Aussie travellers are embracing rail travel as an eco-friendly alternative offering immersive, slow travel experiences.

Rail tour operator, Railbookers, is experiencing a booking boom surpassing its pre-COVID numbers.

As a result, the Railbookers and Amtrak Vacations brands have seen historic growth and success.

The group has seen growth of more than 25 per cent in its passenger numbers alongside a revenue increase of 135 per cent in comparison to the same date range through 24 November 2019.

Jim Marini, Railbookers Group vice president of strategic partnerships, said Railbookers is the perfect solution for Aussie travellers who want to purchase their holidays in their own currency and enjoy the best that rail travel in North America and Europe have to offer, from the luxury of the Venice SimplonOrient-Express to the jaw-dropping scenery of the Canadian Rockies.

“Australian Travel Advisors have spoken loud and clear, saying that their clients are ready to get back to travelling around the world,” said Jim Marini, Railbookers Group vice president of strategic partnerships,” Marini said.

“Travellers are looking to get out and enjoy new experiences, from the Swiss Alps, to the Italian countryside, breathtaking fjords of Scandinavia and everywhere in between.

Railbookers offers more than 6,000 holiday itineraries across multiple travel styles, offering agents and clients the ability to obtain instant quotes for travel dates as far as two years in advance.
