Virgin Voyages recorded the biggest revenue day in company history on 13 August, surpassing its previous Black Friday 2025 record, the adults-only cruise line has announced.
The milestone was driven by demand for the brand’s first Scandinavia and Baltics season, comprising five new itineraries sailing from Amsterdam aboard Valiant Lady in summer 2028. The itineraries span Scandinavian capitals, Norway’s fjords and a crossing beyond the Arctic Circle. Every available cabin sold out within hours of launch, with the Northern Europe season accounting for more than half of the day’s total revenue.
The Summer Season Pass has also returned, bundling all four Northern Europe voyages aboard Valiant Lady into a single back-to-back booking.
Booking momentum built quickly through the day. August booking pace, which entered the day 20 per cent above the prior year, closed more than 45 per cent above it, with the 11-night Arctic Circle voyage emerging as an early standout.
The revenue record capped a run of brand milestones for Virgin Voyages this year. The line posted a record northern WAVE season, was named Travel + Leisure’s number one mega-ship ocean cruise line for a fourth consecutive year, staged its co-branded Content Creator Voyage with TikTok under the Boatchella banner, partnered with Google Cloud to launch AI travel assistant Rovey, and gave First Mates access to Canva tools to support brand advocacy.
Onboard, Valiant Lady has undergone a refresh, adding new spaces including Ariya, an Indian-themed sanctuary, alongside more than 20 new Happenings across the fleet. Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady also brought ‘sailors’ together off Ibiza and Iceland to view the 12 August total solar eclipse from sea.

“Breaking a record on a random Thursday in August seems odd until you realise all of the momentum we’ve built over the last eight months,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, chief executive officer of Virgin Voyages. He added that the result reflected growing recognition of the brand among travellers seeking adults-only holidays.
Virgin Voyages includes dining across more than 20 eateries, essential drinks, wi-fi, group fitness classes and entertainment in its fares, positioning the line at what it describes as the value end of the boutique, adults-only cruise market.
