Resplendent Ceylon is inviting travellers to discover Sri Lanka in a new light with Emerald Season, a reimagined off-season spanning May to November across its five luxury properties.

Emerald Season celebrates the island at its most atmospheric, when lush landscapes, vibrant wildlife, and rich cultural festivities offer a more intimate and rewarding way to explore Sri Lanka.

Rather than a single “best time” to visit, Emerald Season celebrates Sri Lanka as a year-round destination, where the rhythm of nature and culture unfolds month by month. Throughout the season, the island comes alive with cultural celebrations including Vesak, Poson, the Esala Perahera, Deepawali, and the Kataragama Festival. Nature lovers can witness extraordinary wildlife spectacles such as the Minneriya Elephant Gathering, one of the largest gatherings of Asian elephants in the world, that only occurs during these months.

To mark the season, Resplendent Ceylon’s collection of luxury resorts, Ceylon Tea Trails, Cape Weligama, Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Ahu Bay, and Kayaam Wellness – are offering exclusive Emerald Season experiences and savings.

Guests staying during this period can choose from a range of signature seasonal experiences, including:

  • Guided Estate Walks or Junior Tea Planter Experiences at Ceylon Tea Trails, exploring Sri Lanka’s iconic tea country
  • Seasonal Tropical Mixology Experiences or Forest Camp adventures at Cape Weligama
  • Guided Nature Immersion Walks or Junior Ranger Programmes at Wild Coast Tented Lodge
  • An Island Cocktail Experience at Ahu Bay, highlighting the freshest seasonal ingredients
  • A personalised Ayurvedic Consultation at Kayaam Wellness, designed to restore balance and wellbeing during the season

“Emerald Season is when Sri Lanka feels most alive,” Resplendent Ceylon chairman Malik Fernando said. “The landscapes are lush, the light is extraordinary, and the island’s cultural calendar is at its most vibrant. It’s also a wonderful time to travel more slowly, to explore wildlife, heritage, and nature in a way that feels more personal and immersive.”

Whether travelling as a couple, family, or solo adventurer, Emerald Season offers a unique opportunity to experience Sri Lanka in its most cinematic form – from mist-covered tea estates and wildlife-rich jungles to golden beaches and vibrant cultural festivals.

The Emerald Season offer is available for stays from 16 April to 30 November 2026, with significant savings across the Resplendent Ceylon collection.
