iCandy has launched the Little Flyers Index, a global index that ranked over 100 international airports based on how well they cater to families to make family travel smoother.

The index looks at key features that matter most to parents on the move, including children’s play areas, breastfeeding rooms, dining options, and family-friendly security services. The index was also adjusted for passenger traffic to ensure fairness across airports of every size.

Topping the list is Menorca Airport, which scores an impressive 95 out of 100. Despite its modest size, the airport is exceptionally well-equipped for families, offering four dedicated children’s play areas and three nursing rooms. Its lower passenger numbers also make it a calmer, more manageable choice for parents travelling with little ones.

In second place is Riga International Airport in Latvia, scoring 75.83. The airport features four nursing rooms for feeding in privacy and three play areas that help keep children entertained before takeoff. Warsaw Chopin Airport in Poland takes third place, with 19 dedicated nursing rooms, offering ample quiet spaces for parents.

Close behind in fourth is Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, scoring 74.01, which features five kids’ play areas, 10 nursing rooms, and family-friendly security lanes to help make the travel day experience less stressful. Rounding out the top five is Oslo Airport in Norway, with four play areas, two nursing rooms, and fast-track security designed for those with children in tow.

“At iCandy, we understand that travelling with little ones can be overwhelming, especially in environments not designed with families in mind,” iCandy vice CEO, Cameron Appel, said.

“That’s why we created this index: to help parents feel more prepared when planning family trips, and to spotlight the airports going above and beyond to make travel easier. Pairing the right airport with a thoughtfully designed travel pram, like our compact and lightweight Pip pushchair, can completely transform the experience.”
