SeaLink grows presence on the road with acquisition of Transit Systems Group

Tourism and transport company SeaLink Travel Group has announced it will purchase Transit Systems Group, Australia’s largest private operator of metropolitan public bus services, which also has bus operations in London and Singapore.

The purchase price incorporates an enterprise value of $635 million plus an earn-out component of up to $63 million.

Once the sale has been completed, the combined group will have more than 8,000 employees and operate more than 3,200 buses and 78 ferries in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, Western Australia, London, and Singapore.

The deal is the largest in SeaLink’s history and is expected to be finalised by early 2020.

As a result of the deal, Transit Systems Group CEO Clint Feuerherdt will replace retiring SeaLink boss Jeff Ellison.

Huma Charity Challenge, the fundraising division of World Expeditions, is offering the chance to hike with world-leading adventurer Heather Hawkins.

Hawkins will lead Huma’s 11-day Open Adventure Challenge along the iconic Kokoda Trail, departing 17 August 2020 from Port Moresby.

The Adventurous Spirit author and ovarian cancer survivor has completed six half-marathons, seven ultra-marathons and 22 full marathons, including the arduous seven marathons across seven continents in seven days.

In addition to being an everyday mum, Hawkins is a tireless campaigner for cancer research and will be an inspirational guide for those undertaking the Huma Kokoda Open Adventure Challenge next year.

The fully supported trek starts at $4,290 per person on a twin-share basis, including most meals; hotel accommodation in Port Moresby; rest camp accommodation along the trek, being escorted by an experienced Kokoda guide, camp crew and Heather Hawkins; and return internal flights and transfers from Port Moresby to the Kokoda Track.

International flights are not included, and a $200 non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of booking. A minimum of $500 must be raised for the preferred charity to participate.

Huma Charity Challenge supports fundraisers through the entire process from providing fundraising tips, suggesting a suitable training regime, outlining gear requirements for adventure challenges, managing all travel arrangements, and providing encouragement along the way.
