Royal Caribbean has launched a new ‘open-jaw’ holiday format for the Spectrum of the Seas 2027/2028 season to address the shift of Aussies seeking multi-destination trips over single-stop holidays to maximise the value of long-haul travel.

With Japan recently overtaking Bali as Australia’s #1 holiday destination, this new format removes the need for internal flights, transforming the transit between the region’s most iconic hubs into the main event.

For the first time, Australians can bridge the vibrant streets of Shanghai and Seoul with the majesty of Mt. Fuji before arriving in Tokyo, effectively doubling their discovery time without retracing a single step:

  • 8-Night Best of Japan and Korea holiday departing from Shanghai (Port Baoshan) on 9 May 2027 and finishing in Tokyo, from $2,021 per person for a balcony stateroom.
  • 10-Night Best of Japan and Korea holiday departing from Shanghai (Port Baoshan) on 11 October 2027 and finishing in Tokyo from $2,683 per person for a balcony stateroom.
