Rydges Hotels & Resorts has appointed Chantel Messaoudi as general manager of Rydges South Bank Brisbane as the property marks its 30th anniversary.
Messaoudi brings 30 years of global experience across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, the UK and Australia, including 11 hotel openings and senior commercial leadership across sales, marketing and revenue.
Most recently, she led a Bahrain luxury hotel to Forbes Travel Guide recommended status within six months. She was also named Best General Manager at the 2025 Hotelier Middle East Awards.
Messaoudi has held executive roles with Accor, Al Habtoor Group, Rotana, glh Hotels, 25hours Hotels and Hard Rock International. The appointment marks a return to the Rydges brand, where Messaoudi previously held a national sales role.

EVT Group general manager of Hotels & Resorts, Callum Kennedy, said the appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the property.
“Rydges South Bank has been a key part of Brisbane’s hospitality and events landscape for more than 30 years. Chantel brings a strong track record of leadership, commercial acumen and guest-focused excellence, making her exceptionally well placed to lead the hotel into its next phase of growth and success,” he said.
Messaoudi said the milestone creates a clear platform for growth. As the property prepares for further investment ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics she will focus on lifting performance across revenue, guest experience and team culture.
“Rydges South Bank carries 30 years of significant trading history in this city,” Messaoudi said. “The location is unmatched, the investment pipeline ahead of 2032 is real, and there is a clear opportunity to elevate the property to a higher level across revenue, guest experience, and team performance. That work starts now.”
