Salamander Voyages, a family-run gulet charter company, has launched ‘The Salamander Experience’, a brand-new slow sailing itinerary in Turkey for May 2025.
The seven-night itinerary has been specifically designed for travellers seeking a deeper connection and redefines the traditional gulet sailing experience. Rather than covering vast distances, it focuses on a carefully selected area closer to Bodrum, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the culture, history, and natural beauty of the Turkish coast. With a slower-paced journey that prioritises depth over distance, guests not only have more time sailing under the open sails, swimming, and snorkelling, but also the opportunity to uncover local traditions and hidden gems that most travellers simply sail past.

Pick fresh fruit and vegetables in Salamander’s old captain’s garden before enjoying a leisurely lunch onboard. Wander through bohemian markets in Gumusluk, meet local carpet makers, have lunch anchored off the ruins of the ancient amphitheatre at Knidos, and explore the historic site of Kissebuku. Shop in Bodrum’s vibrant streets, savour leisurely lunches in tranquil bays, and enjoy exceptional onboard dining crafted by Chef Tugay, a Turkish Master Chef finalist, ensuring that every meal is a highlight of the journey.
Salamander Voyages offers seven nights aboard Salamander from £1,666 (around AU$ 3,303) per person, based on 12 guests, on a highly inclusive basis. Private charter only. The price includes daily breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and five dinners, plus all house wines and drinks, crew, local airport transfers, harbour dues, fuel, and water.
