Scenic Group has unveiled a new India and Sri Lanka river cruise and land touring program set to launch in October 2027, with Scenic Aura deployed to West Bengal’s Hooghly River for its inaugural season.
The boutique ship will carry a maximum of 44 guests per departure across five itineraries ranging from 17 to 25 days, spanning North India, South India, Rajasthan and Sri Lanka. Each journey is anchored by a nine-night all-inclusive river cruise along the Hooghly, a lower Ganges tributary flowing through some of India’s most historically significant regions.
Scenic Aura is currently being redesigned by MKM Yachts ahead of the October 2027 launch, with interior details to be released later this year. Land groups will be capped at 25 guests.

Included experiences across the program range from high tea at Kathgola Palace in Murshidabad to visits to the ISKCON Global Headquarters, the Hooghly Imambara and Katra Mosque, as well as meetings with master craftspeople in Matiari’s artisan quarter.
Itineraries are priced from $13,395 per person, with a super earlybird saving of up to $1,500 per person available on selected departures booked before 31 March 2027. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person is required within seven working days.
The program forms part of a broader Asia expansion for Scenic Group, with Scenic Spirit II joining operations on the Mekong, Emerald Xara arriving in Asia, and Scenic Eclipse II returning to the region – all planned for 2028.
Full itinerary details and updated pricing will be confirmed from November 2026.
