Qantas are set to enforce a dress code for patrons at its major lounges across the country.
The Australian Business Traveller reports the new minimum smart casual dress guideline will be enforced from April 1, to those wanting to gain access to lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth or Adelaide.
Those that are dressed too casually may be refused entry to the lounge “at the discretion of the lounge staff”, but the new rules are only a “friendly reminder” dress appropriately, the airline said to the website.
“The vast majority of our members meet and exceed the guidelines, but we have had some feedback from customers that they want to see those guidelines apply to everyone,” a Qantas spokesperson told the Australian Business Traveller website.
Apparently, high-vis vests are exempt from the new dress code, the website reports.
