SeaLink Marine & Tourism to sponsor Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival for further three years

SeaLink Marine & Tourism has recommitted to South Australian tourism by renewing its sponsorship of the SeaLink Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival naming rights for another three years.

The extension continues a 20-year partnership that has helped shape the event into one of South Australia’s top regional tourism highlights.

Running from 20–22 February 2025, the Carnival attracts thousands of visitors for three days of high-energy racing, local food and wine, and community celebrations.

Tracy Croft, General Manager of SeaLink South Australia, emphasised the importance of the renewal.

“We are thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with the Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival as naming sponsor for another three years,” Croft said.

“We’ve supported this event for the past 20 years and see it as a true celebration of KI’s community spirit and a vital contributor to the local economy.”

The Carnival is expected to draw 3,600 attendees, injecting substantial revenue into the local economy. Many visitors stay up to 10 days, benefiting accommodation providers, restaurants, retail outlets, and tourism operators. Local businesses, including Kangaroo Island Spirits and Dudley Wines, play a key role in the event’s offerings.

“The Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival is more than just a racing event it’s the island’s biggest celebration of the year and a vital driver of economic activity,” Kangaroo Island Racing chairperson Shane Pope said.

“SeaLink’s ongoing support enables us to continue growing the Carnival and welcoming visitors for an unforgettable experience of sport, community, and Kangaroo Island’s natural beauty.”

SeaLink also provides up to 200 metres of ferry deck space for transporting 90 racehorses, along with trainers and support teams. With its new ferries, Wanggami and Ruwi, launching in mid-2025, travel to Kangaroo Island will become even more seamless.
