As you would probably already know, American Airlines has suspended its LAX-Sydney service from March 16 (final flight to depart Sydney is on 18 March) through to 6 May, and its LAX-Auckland service from 27 March (final flight to depart Auckland on 29 March) until the seasonal service returns in October 2020.

This is in response to reduced demand, and follows the travel restrictions put in place by the Australian and New Zealand governments in response to COVID-19.

As a result of these services being suspended, American Airlines and Canuckiwi have unfortunately had to pause the Sell Your Way to the USA incentive, effective 17 March 2020 through to mid-April 2020.

American Airlines and Canuckiwi intend to extend the duration of the incentive period when flights return. Further details will be shared in due course.

All applicable bookings that have been made and issued will still count towards the incentive and points will be allocated for these bookings.

Agents are encouraged to keep records of all flight bookings made with American Airlines as well as any land components, hotel bookings, sightseeing, and activities with the five participating partners (Utah Office of Tourism; Washington, DC; Visit Anchorage; Travel Nevada; and Grapevine, Texas).

Over the coming weeks, a series of destination webinars will be rolled out to help agents with their destination knowledge. For more info and to register for these, click here.

Agents who participate in the webinars will earn additional points on their tally sheets that count towards qualifying for a spot on one of the famils. For additional points, agents can also complete the American Airlines and Qantas Learning Bite.

For any assistance, please reach out to Canuckiwi (lara@canuckiwi.com) or the American Airlines team (syd.service@aa.com or nz.service@aa.com).
