Sheraton Hotels & Resorts debuted in Papua New Guinea with the opening of Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites, the hospitality group’s first property in the country.

The 394-key hotel sits in Port Moresby’s central business and government district, five minutes from Jacksons International Airport and connected to the Vision City Mega Mall.

The hospitality group designed the 394 accommodation rooms, including 284 guestrooms, 15 suites and 95 apartments, to meet the needs of both business and leisure travellers. The apartments include separate living areas, kitchens and dining spaces, supporting extended stays and family travel, while rooms reflect Sheraton’s contemporary design approach with functional layouts and integrated technology.

The property’s highlighted amenities include more than 2,500 square metres of meeting and event space, including Papua New Guinea’s largest ballroom, complemented by multiple dining venues and the new Sheraton Club. It also has an infinity swimming pool, one of Port Moresby’s largest fitness centres and a full-service day spa.

Aside from its proximity to the airport and connection to the mall, directly across the road, the Papua New Guinea Football Stadium offers guests direct access to the nation’s sporting matches.

“The opening of Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites after it’s transformative renovation represents an important milestone for Papua New Guinea’s hospitality sector – bringing the global Sheraton brand and much-loved hospitality experiences to Papua New Guinea,” Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites general manager Shin Ching, said. “We look forward to the Grand Opening Event slated for later this year, where we will officially launch Sheraton’s arrival to Papua New Guinea.”

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands. Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites is Marriott International’s second hotel in Port Moresby.
