Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group has reported a 3.1 per cent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for the month of May.
That’s slightly ahead of the increase in passenger capacity of 2.8%.
As a result, the Group’s passenger load factor (PLF) increased by 0.3 percentage point year-on-year to 86.4 per cent, with SIA and Scoot posting monthly PLFs of 85.2 per cent and 91.0 per cent respectively. The two airlines carried a combined total of 3.4 million passengers, 6.3 per cent higher than last year.
Cargo loads rose by 4.2 per cent year-on-year, higher than the 2.9 per cent expansion in cargo capacity. As a result, cargo operations posted a load factor of 57.2 per cent, 0.7 percentage point higher year-on-year. During the month, cargo demand was supported by front-loading activity, in anticipation of growing uncertainty in the global trade environment.
At the end of May 2025, the Group’s passenger network covered 128 destinations in 36 countries and territories. SIA served 78 destinations, while Scoot served 72 destinations. The cargo network comprised 132 destinations in 37 countries and territories.
Today, Singapore Airlines and its low-cost subsidiary Scoot operate 169 weekly flights from seven cities across Australia, providing customers with seamless connectivity to a global network of 126 destinations across 37 countries.
