Singapore Airlines is celebrating a significant milestone in its 40-year service to Brisbane, with the reintroduction of a fourth weekly flight to the city this week, three months ahead of schedule.
The fourth weekly flight (SQ266) will be added to the Brisbane-Singapore route from 4 August, increasing the total flights to 25 per week.
This enhanced frequency offers the quickest connections from Brisbane to major international destinations including London, Zurich and Rome, alongside improved access to Beijing, Shanghai and Johannesburg.
The move, is well ahead of the planned November launch, and is a testament to both the growing demand its commitment to providing world-class travel options to and from Brisbane, and Singapore Airlines said.
Accelerating SIA’s strategy to boost capacity across the Australian network in 2024, the new service, SQ266, will operate four times weekly, increasing SIA’s total direct flights between Brisbane and Singapore to 25 per week.
Operated by SIA’s Airbus A350-900 Medium Haul Aircraft, the additional flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday follow the success of SIA’s supplementary flights during the 2023 end-of-year peak period.
The additional capacity, to be deployed year-round, is a result of proactive efforts by Brisbane Airport and the Queensland Government through the Attracting Aviation Investment Fund (AAIF), which aims to accelerate Queensland’s post-COVID economic recovery.
The service enhancement reinforces SIA’s dedication to the Australian market and its commitment to providing world-class air travel experiences to and from Brisbane, celebrating four decades of excellence.
