Singapore has cemented its place as Asia Pacific’s business events leader, unveiling record tourism figures, a fresh strategic partnership with global events giant Informa Group Limited, and an ambitious pipeline of mega-events stretching through to 2032.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced the new partnership with Informa on Thursday, positioning the city-state for even greater growth in the lucrative meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) sector.

The announcement comes off the back of a bumper 2025 for Singapore tourism, with the destination recording its highest-ever tourism receipts at S$32.8 billion, up 10 per cent year-on-year from S$29.8 billion in 2024.

Business events played a major role in driving that growth. MICE tourism receipts hit S$2.3 billion in 2025, marking a hefty 35 per cent jump from S$1.7 billion the previous year as Singapore continued attracting high-yield international delegates across sectors including healthcare, innovation, finance and sustainability.

Singapore also retained its title as Asia Pacific’s top meeting city for the 23rd consecutive year according to the International Congress and Convention Association, hosting 156 meetings in 2025 – an 8 per cent increase on the previous year.

Adding another trophy to the cabinet, meetings and events platform Cvent at IMEX Frankfurt named Singapore the Top Meeting Destination in Asia Pacific for 2026, the eighth time the city has claimed the honour since 2016. Sydney came third internationally and was No.1 in Australia.

The newly inked Memorandum of Understanding between STB and Informa is designed to supercharge Singapore’s Tourism 2040 ambitions, which include tripling MICE tourism receipts over the next 15 years.

The partnership will bring three new events to Singapore later this year – FundForum Asia, Pharmapack Asia and BioProcess International Asia — while also expanding existing events including MRO Asia Pacific and Asia Photonics Expo, which will now include a new Asia Semiconductor Expo component.

The two organisations will also trial “festivalisation” initiatives aimed at making business events more immersive and experience-led, blending business travel with leisure experiences to boost destination appeal.

“Our partnership with Informa Group Limited is founded on a shared belief: business events, organised with the right partners, can do more than bring people together – they can catalyse conversations, deepen connections, and leave a lasting impact on the communities that host them,” Singapore Tourism Board assistant chief executive, Industry Development Group, Ong Huey Hong, said.

“At a time when the world is navigating through uncertainty, we see this collaboration as an opportunity to deliver outcomes that will open new avenues for growth, further strengthen our MICE industry, and reinforce Singapore’s position as the World’s Best MICE City.”

Informa Markets chief commercial officer, Nick Cole said Singapore continues to be a leading global hub for business and trade.

“We deeply share Singapore’s belief in the power of live events to champion and drive growth and success, not just for the markets they serve, but for the local community and economy too,” he said.

“We have nearly 20 brands in Singapore, and are excited at expanding our activity through this deeper strategic partnership, which will help us serve our customers and markets in more ways while contributing to the further development of Singapore’s thriving economy.”

More to come

Singapore’s momentum in the MICE space shows no signs of slowing.

Earlier this year, the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence Annual Conference became the first edition in its 40-year history to be held outside North America, drawing nearly 10,000 attendees.

Meanwhile, MTX (Milipol TechX) 2026 attracted more than 21,000 delegates from 89 countries, while next month’s Herbalife APAC Extravaganza 2026 is expected to bring 25,000 attendees to Singapore in what will become the country’s largest-ever meeting and incentive event.

Looking ahead, Singapore has already locked in major international events through to 2032, including the Lions Clubs International Convention 2028 and the World Conference for Non-Destructive Testing 2032.

The Lion City already has around 200,000sqm of exhibition space already in operation and there are plans for a potential Downtown MICE Hub in the works.
