Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Oceania is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Edward Koh as its new Executive Director, International Group & Oceania.

Officially commencing from 1 November 2025, Edward will lead STB’s ongoing marketing efforts across Australia and New Zealand, to ensure Singapore remains top of mind as a destination sought after by both leisure and business travellers.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the Oceania team, Koh has held several senior leadership positions since joining STB in 2006. Most recently, he led the Conventions, Meetings & Incentive Travel division in Singapore, where he played a pivotal part in securing quality association congresses and corporate events and cementing Singapore’s reputation as a global leader in business events. Prior to that his overseas experience includes heading up STB’s Greater China and Southeast Asia regional offices.

Beyond STB, Koh was appointed a board director of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) in September 2024, representing a globally diverse community dedicated to driving global economic and social transformation through business events.

Commenting on his appointment, Koh said:

“Oceania is an important region for Singapore, and it’s heartening to see that visitor arrivals from Australia and New Zealand continue to be strong. I look forward to deepening ties with our industry and trade partners, sharing the wide variety of experiences Singapore has to offer with Aussie and Kiwi travellers, and strengthening the city’s reputation as a hub of culture, innovation and world-class events.”

Ahead of 1 November, Edward has already hit the ground running by joining the team in Perth for the Board’s exclusive networking event SingapoReconnect on 6 August, where he met with over 70 Western Australian travel trade and media professionals to share destination updates. He will also attend the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA) in Brisbane later this month, emphasising the Board’s commitment to maintaining strong trade relationships in the region.

STB’s Area Director Oceania, Kimberly Spykerman, said,

“Edward’s leadership in the global meetings and conventions sector, combined with his deep understanding of destination strategy, will be a tremendous asset to our team. We are excited to work alongside him as his enthusiasm and curiosity about the Oceania market will certainly bring about new ideas and stories about Singapore to share with Aussies and Kiwis.”

Edward’s predecessor Oliver Chong has stepped into his new role of Assistant Chief Executive, International Group, which oversees the marketing.
