Travel communications agency, Slojourn Studio, together with its boutique destination management partner, Anecdotes, has officially wrapped its first-ever Australian luxury travel advisor famil to India.

The journey showcased the destination through Anecdotes’ signature storytelling approach and was designed with equipping advisors with the tools, insight and inspiration to sell India to Australian travellers – particularly those seeking soul-stirring, transformative experiences.

From 1 December, four luxury travel advisors from Queensland, NSW and Western Australia embarked on an introduction to Northern India curated and hosted by two of Anecdotes’ three founding partners – Sandeep Dayal and Aditi Chanda – along with one of Anecdotes’ Travel Designers, Kiran Bishtbora.

Offering an insider’s perspective into rich India’s culture, heritage and modern identity, the famil began in New Delhi, and included an exclusive members-only dinner at the prestigious Delhi Golf Club, before continuing through the cities of Udaipur, Jaipur and Agra.

The journey also highlighted India’s sensory diversity, from sumptuous regional cuisine (with spice levels carefully tailored) to sunrise yoga in different cities, bespoke wellness immersions, textile trails, and touches of colonial-era tradition such as high tea rituals in India’s palace hotels.

The local Anecdotes team is known for weaving historical insight with personal connections, with one such moment occurring in Udaipur, when the group was granted a rare audience with Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, the 77th Custodian of the Mewar dynasty, during a private visit to the iconic City Palace.

“These are the encounters that define Anecdotes,” said Dayal. “India is full of grandeur, history and colour – but it’s the personal stories and intimate connections that reveal her true spirit.”

The famil also underscored the increasingly vital role of destination management companies in modern travel – particularly in destinations as multilayered and seemingly overwhelming as India. Anecdotes showed how a DMC can transform a journey from a surface-level itinerary into a deeply textured, seamlessly executed experience.

For all four advisors, this trip marked their first experience of India.

“This debut into India has far exceeded every expectation,” Slojourn Studio’s Narelle Langton said. “The accessibility of the country, the knowledge and insider hacks of our dedicated guides, the comfort and professionalism of the Anecdotes drivers, and the sheer richness of what we experienced – this certainly won’t be our last visit here.”
