Colorado Tourism Office has hosted 30 Australian and New Zealand agents for the Sno’n’Ski mega famil from 22 February to 3 March.
Agents earned a place on the highly anticipated famil after Colorado Tourism and Sno’n’Ski partnered in an incentive last year.
Highlights of the famil included whisky tasting in Vail, a scavenger hunt in Steamboat Springs, snowmobiling in Telluride, a Denver City walking tour, Kemo Sabe hat-making, and a pub crawl in Aspen Snowmass. Attendees also enjoyed ski and snowboarding lessons among perfect conditions across Colorado’s ski resorts.
Sno’n’Ski Holidays national sales manager, Emily Porter, said experiencing so many aspects of Colorado would provide the team with a greater passion and skill for organising client itineraries in the future.
“We learnt that Colorado’s people, each mountain’s unique personality, and 300 days of sunshine create an energy like no other destination,” Porter said. “The whole trip was nothing short of extraordinary.”
Colorado Tourism Office’s Liz Birdsall, who hosted the famil alongside Linkd Tourism account manager Jack Curtis, said the group was keen to try all the experiences on offer.
“We developed the itinerary to include the addition of Denver as a gateway destination, which is a first for a mega famil,” Birdsall said. “With Denver being a mile above sea level, it’s the ideal stop for visitors before heading to the higher altitude in the mountains.
“Our strategy was to showcase these incredible resorts back-to-back, so that these top-performing agents could really experience what makes each of them special. The group enjoyed the laid-back ranching community of Steamboat, as well as historic Vail, which showcased the World War II 10th Mountain division story. We then headed to Aspen and Snowmass, which are world-renowned for snow sports, but also promise mindful cultural experiences. For the last stop, the Mega Famil group visited the charming western movie set town of Telluride.
“We were absolutely thrilled and honoured to have Sno’n’Ski select Colorado as its Mega Fam destination. Our long-standing relationship with the ANZ market makes this kind of significant activity a must in terms of our continuity of investment. We were able to showcase Colorado and give these Sno’n’Ski agents a tangible reason to send winter enthusiasts to our destination over and over again.”
