Sno’n’Ski Holidays has taken 30 top-selling travel agents from Australia and New Zealand on a 9-night mega famil across four Japanese ski resorts: Shizukuishi, Naeba, Shiga Kogen and Hakuba, plus a stopover in Tokyo.
Departing on 6 March with All Nippon Airways, the group experienced everything from hidden-gem resorts and untouched powder to world-class dining, varied accommodation and uniquely Japanese cultural moments.
The adventure began in Shizukuishi, a traditional resort in northern Honshu offering a quieter, more authentic Japanese ski experience.
“Shizukuishi was amazing!” Participant Paul said. “There are no lift lines, updated new rental Salomon gear at the hire shop, and the buffet selection was awesome. I’d highly recommend CAT-skiing to experienced riders, what an epic way to explore untouched powder.”
The group then travelled to Naeba, one of Japan’s fastest-growing ski destinations, located only a few hours from Tokyo.
“The facilities are excellent in Naeba, the view from my room was awesome, and you are spoiled for choice when it comes to dining options… there are 46 restaurants to choose from!” Participant Ella said.
From dry powder to corduroy runs

From there, the agents explored the vast terrain of Shiga Kogen, Japan’s largest interconnected ski resort. Conditions delivered everything from light, dry powder through the trees to perfectly groomed corduroy runs.
“We had superb runs in Shiga Kogen, from light dry powder through the trees to expertly groomed corduroy runs,” Participant Brooke said.
Agents also enjoyed exclusive perks, including early gondola access for Prince Hotel guests, a standout highlight for keen skiers chasing first tracks.
The final stop was Hakuba, one of Japan’s most iconic alpine regions. Here, the group experienced a mix of terrain, vibrant après culture, and standout accommodation.
“La Neige Hotel was a true 5-star experience!” Paul added. “From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. I felt like Kevin from Home Alone at the New York Plaza Hotel in my fluffy robe and slippers!”
Highlights included five-star service at boutique hotels, seamless ski logistics, and exceptional dining experiences, including Michelin-level cuisine.
Beyond the slopes, the crew got a quick taste of Tokyo with a stopover at Villa Fontaine Haneda. Many of their clients stay a few nights before or after a ski holiday, so it was the perfect addition to the trip.
The Mega Famil showcased Japan’s unique blend of culture and convenience, from the vending machines and hidden whisky bars to massive thrift stores, snow monkeys and traditional alpine architecture.
