Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems brands celebrate luxury at Sofitel Wentworth Sydney event

Last night, all Sofitel and MGallery hotels across the Pacific came together for a celebration of luxury, marking the establishment of a fresh organisational structure that brings the three brands under one team, with a passion to expand the group’s luxury footprint.

The event was held at the Garden Court Restaurant & Terrace of Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Australia’s iconic first 5-star hotel. Guests and key partners revelled in the ambiance of a Parisian Garden Party sponsored by the finest French Champagne Pommery, Aix en Provence rosé and Tanqueray Gin, with an array of signature MGallery cocktails on offer, alongside the renowned Sofitel French joi de vivre.

After being met with a woman wearing a Champagne skirt filled with glasses of Pommery, guests enjoyed an Eiffel Tower ice sculpture surrounded by the freshest seafood display, interactive food stations, an igloo bar on the terrace and roving entertainment, while a curtain later dropped to reveal a spectacular dessert buffet.

Marcus Hannah, Head of operations across the Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems hotel network in the Pacific provided insights into the future plans for the brands the group’s commitment to sustainable development and its focus on exceptional service and unique culinary offerings.

The Porter House Hotel Sydney MGallery being named Best Fine Dining Restaurant for Oceania in the World Culinary Awards and winning its first Chef’s Hat in the Australian Good Food Guide just months after opening;
Luma at the Playford MGallery winning Best Bar & Restaurant in the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards while also scoring a coveted Chef’s Hat;
Atelier at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour winning two Chefs hats, placing them alongside some of the finest restaurants in the counry
Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour receiving Green Globe Certification;
Sofitel Noosa Pacific and Sofitel Brisbane receiving sustainable tourism certification from EcoTourism Australia

Kerrie Hannaford, Global Head of Performance for the brands announced that the first Emblems luxury hotel would launch in Canada next year, with a focus on finding the right Emblems projects in the Pacific. Emblems will be a luxury brand that sits above MGallery, with a plan to open 60 of these emblematic, flagship hotels globally by 2030.

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth General Manager Sam Panetta also spoke, thanking the crowd for their loyalty and support and promising great things to come at the hotel in 2024 and beyond.
