South African Airways (SAA) has unveiled a new Perth–Nairobi through fare, creating a streamlined travel option into East Africa by combining its nonstop Perth–Johannesburg service with onward connectivity to Nairobi in partnership with Kenya Airways.

Under the new arrangement, passengers can now travel on a single ticket from Perth to Nairobi, enjoying coordinated schedules, baggage checked through to their final destination, and full protection across both legs of the journey.

Travellers will fly on SA281 from Perth to Johannesburg, before connecting to SA7116 (operated by Kenya Airways) to Nairobi. The return itinerary pairs SA7117 (operated by Kenya Airways) from Nairobi to Johannesburg with SAA’s SA280 back to Perth.

SAA says the new fare structure eliminates the need for travel agents to manually construct separate tickets, reducing complexity and often resulting in cleaner pricing and simpler reissues. For travellers, the through fare offers a more seamless booking and servicing experience within the GDS, while strengthening SAA’s proposition as a convenient gateway carrier into East Africa.

The airline says Nairobi remains one of the region’s key commercial and tourism hubs, and the new fare will enhance travel options for both leisure and corporate customers across the Australian market.
