South African Tourism has teamed up with comedian Urzila Carlson for a new training platform designed to reconnect travel agents with the destination.

With South African-born Carlson as their tour guide, the platform showcases the country’s must-do experiences, neighbourhoods and hidden gems, taking agents through bustling cities, breathtaking scenery, savannahs brimming with wildlife, cultural experiences and sun-soaked coastlines.

It offers agents the opportunity to hone their skills and knowledge so they’re ready to plan itineraries for their clients when the time comes – all while having a laugh on the way – because let’s face it, we could all use one of those right now.

Three of the platforms six modules have already been released, with three lessons in each module including Carlson’s videos, South African Tourism’s presentations and five quiz questions.

And, to really put a smile on agents’ faces, the fastest five contestants to get all the answers correct in any module will win a bottle of South African wine.

First place in each module will also win a Well Souled South Africa coffee table book valued at $150.

Carlson is a multi-award-winning comedian known for her roles on Have You Been Paying Attention, The Masked Singer and her Netflix special Overqualified Loser.

She has been an ambassador for South African Tourism and travelled across the country’s provinces of Gauteng, Western Cape, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape in 2018 to film the series of videos featured on this platform.
