Spencer Travel Managing Director Penny Spencer will join a panel of wellness experts at the company’s upcoming Wellness Collective event in Sydney, as the agency doubles down on one of travel’s fastest-growing segments.

The event takes place on Saturday 23 May at Saltbox, Redfern, running from 9am to 4pm. Tickets are $30 per person and include canapés, tea, coffee and juices throughout the day, with guests free to drop in for an hour or stay for the full program.

Spencer, who has more than 35 years of experience in the travel industry, leads Spencer Travel and its wellness division, Spencer Travel Wellness. She will join a panel discussion titled Ancient Medicine Meets Modern Day Science – how is this influencing wellness travel, followed by a Q&A. Also on the panel are Kris Abbey – founder of Spa & Wellness Magazine and MC for the day – Camilla Thompson of BioHackMe and Nick Irani, CEO and co-founder of Subtle Energies, and Melissa Bovil, co-founder of Nature’s Energy.

The broader program includes seated yoga and Ayurveda with Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner Dr Mai, breathwork with Kyla Mawson of Earth Heart Breath, a session on IV drip therapy with Rosy McEvedy of IV League Drips, biohacking insights from Thompson, and a closing sound healing session from Jen and Adam McCrea of Nāda Sound Spa. Jen McCrea is a classically trained cellist and accredited sound bath facilitator.

Exhibitors include some of the world’s leading wellness properties: RAKxa Integrative Wellness in Thailand, Alba Wellness Valley by Fusion in Vietnam, Ananda in the Himalayas in India, and The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp in New Zealand. The latter’s co-founder Douglas Rikard-Bell will present on the role of nature, food and community in transformational travel. Find out more here.
