Star Aviation has commenced its new long-term contract with the Qantas Group in its founding port, Canberra.
Under the agreement, Star assumed responsibility for Ramp, Baggage, and Cabin Cleaning services for Qantas and QantasLink, while also delivering Check-In, PRM, Ramp, Baggage, and Cabin Cleaning services for Jetstar, further strengthening our partnership with Australia’s leading airline brands.
Star Aviation commenced its first contact in Canberra in 2013 with 15 staff. Today, Star employs more than 800 people across nine airports.
“I am truly humbled and grateful that the Qantas Group have chosen to partner with Star on such a significant and strategically important contract,” Star’s founder and managing director Peter Georgiou said.
“Canberra Airport is the world’s greatest small airport and we are extremely proud that we are now responsible for playing such an important role in its ongoing success not only for the Airport but also Qantas Group and those that live and visit the Nation’s Capital.

Canberra Airport is owned by the Capital Airport Group (CAG), which is part of the privately-owned Capital Property Group. The airport was purchased from the Australian Government in 1998 by Canberra businessman Terry Snow and his family. It is currently operated and managed by the Snow family, with Terry’s son Stephen Byron as CEO.
“In 2013 Terry Snow, in particular, gave me personally the opportunity to commence this small family, Australian-owned business and with that and the investment of our partners, customers and the dedication of the 800 staff which are part of our family is what see us now being a point of difference to its customers and its people.
“We cannot wait to continue to grow within our capabilities and continue to embellish the culture that we have and continue to commit to our motto, Big Enough to Manage, Small Enough to Care.”
Terry Snow AM passed away in 2024.
