A TikTok user has made headlines after appearing to cook a steak on an aircraft toilet.
The footage was posted by Marcus Monroe, an actor from New York, and seems to show him lighting a fire in a toilet bowl while onboard a Delta flight before placing foil on top of the seat and a steak on the surface, Simple Flying reported.
He even appears to add a splash of white wine and a garnish before plating up and returning to his seat.
“They don’t have hot meals anymore on aeroplanes, so I came up with a solution,” he said in the video’s caption.
Johnny Jet reported that Southwest Airlines retweeted the TikTok video from a user called Chelsea Boot Stan Account.
“We- We have no words. Other than please don’t even think about cooking a steak on one of our flights,” Southwest said in the tweet.
The airline has since deleted the Tweet and the video has been taken down.
However, it has since emerged that Monroe’s stunt was fake.
Delta told Travel Weekly that the video was fabricated and that “appearing to go around safety regulations on board an aircraft is no joke to us”.
“Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and employees. Our teams investigated the situation and have been in contact with the customer. Fortunately, the video is fabricated and the customer has removed the video,” the statement said.
