New research has revealed that the majority of Aussies would be keen to carry digital COVID-19 health passes if it allowed them to travel.
The survey by Skyscanner found that 57 per cent of the participants would be happy to carry digital health information, including testing results and vaccine information, if it meant they could go on holiday.
Nearly a third (29 per cent) also said they would be happy to do so in order to avoid quarantine restrictions, and 35 per cent said they would feel more confident booking a flight that had a health pass in scheme place, requiring passengers to carry test results.
The data also shed light on how travellers feel about vaccines being the key to the future of travel, with 49 per cent of survey respondents saying the vaccine would give them the confidence to travel internationally.
Thirty-five per cent also said they would feel more confident about travel if their destination required all travellers and or guests to be vaccinated.
Another 35 per cent said they’d feel better about flying if their airline had a health pass scheme in place.
The research comes not long after Prime Minister Scott Morrison said international travel would be “very possible” once the vaccine rolls out, but that “there’s a fair bit of work still to go” around the development of a ‘vaccine passport’.
