A study from iSelect has revealed that roughly four in 10 Australian travellers dislike having their seat kicked from behind on planes.
iSelect reported that 42 per cent of Aussie travellers it surveyed responded that “people/children kicking the back of your seat” as a travel pet peeve.
Backseat kicking ranks as the number one travel pet peeve, above nine other issues including “people who make phone calls, play videos or music without headphones” and “people who rest their feet on the window/armrest next to you,” which ranked at second and third place with 35 per cent and 34 per cent of respondents, respectively.
“Aussies love to travel, but it seems what happens once we’re in the air can make or break the experience,” iSelect spokesperson Sophie Ryan said.
“It’s summertime in Europe, and many Aussies are travelling overseas around this time of year to escape the colder weather and tick off some of their travel must-dos.”
In the top 10 list of “bugbears,” the items “people who block the airport travelator instead of walking” and “pets being allowed in the cabin” ranked the lowest with only 15 per cent of respondents considering them as pet peeves.
iSelect recommends travellers consider the extras they might need, make sure all countries are covered, declare any pre-existing conditions, and check the entry conditions for the destination when finding suitable travel insurance.
