When Women in Travel Awards entrant Prue Hatcher and her partner Chris Syme travelled through Europe with their baby last year, they found themselves missing out on the tours they love most.

Overcrowded, inflexible, or simply booked out, traditional walking tours left them searching for a smarter, more flexible way to explore.

Their solution became MyGuideGuru, an AI-powered app that builds personalised, self-guided tours anywhere in the world, instantly. Launched in August from their home in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the app combines AI technology with a passion for culture, history, and storytelling.

Travellers can choose a destination, interests and travel method and within minutes, MyGuideGuru creates a tailored audio tour complete with maps, local insights, and recommendations for where to eat or wander next.

“We wanted to make learning about the destinations you visit feel immersive and stress-free,” Hatcher said. “MyGuideGuru gives travellers the same sense of discovery you’d get from a great guide, but with total flexibility.”

Key features

  • Personalised tours built in minutes, anywhere in the world
  • Offline access for travel without roaming costs
  • Crowd-free touring without bookings or time slots
  • Affordable pricing per tour or annual subscription options

As Australians plan their Christmas and New Year holidays, MyGuideGuru offers a modern companion for travellers who value both independence and insight. Whether exploring European cities or regional escapes closer to home.

The Women in Travel Awards finalists will be announced at 3pm today (Wednesday, 5 November).
