Tahiti Tourisme hosted Australian tour operators for the annual Parau Parau global trade conference at the Hilton Hotel in Papeete, 19-20 February, in partnership with Air Tahiti Nui.
The tourism board welcomed tour operators from key markets including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The two-day conference provided a platform for international tour operators to connect with local tourism stakeholders, exchange ideas and explore new opportunities to showcase The Islands of Tahiti to global travellers. The event also highlighted a wave of new tourism developments across the destination, including the launch of new hotels such as Tahiti Lagoon Resort and Hotel Reva Tahiti, and tourist experiences designed to expand the country’s offering for international visitors.
On the heels of the conference, a new direct flight route was announced between Sydney and Papeete, further strengthening accessibility and making it easier for travellers from Australia to visit The Islands of Tahiti.
Ahead of and following the conference, attendees were invited to participate in curated familiarisation trips organised by Tahiti Tourisme. These itineraries were designed to highlight the country’s diversity and authenticity, giving product managers the opportunity to experience a range of destinations, cultural encounters and tourism offerings firsthand.
