Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) and China Airlines have wrapped up an exclusive Australian travel trade famil highlighting Taiwan’s diverse tourism experiences.
The journey brought together representatives from leading Australian travel companies, including Wendy Wu Tours, Intrepid, Connected Travel, V Travel, Webjet, The Ultimate Traveller, Travel Managers, Adventure Aboard and FC Travelwise.
Ganessan Suppiah and Stacy Ong of TTA hosted the famil as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Taiwan’s presence in the Australian market and inspire new travel product development.
Travelling along Taiwan’s east coast, the itinerary featured immersive cultural activities, Indigenous-focused experiences, scenic rail journeys and dedicated trade engagement sessions.
The delegates began in Taiwan’s ceramics capital, Yingge with a hands-on pottery workshop and tour to Sanxia Qingshui Zushi Temple and Sanxia Old Street.
In Hualien, the group enjoyed an immersive visit to the Dageeli Indigenous Village, including traditional indigenous cuisine, cultural presentations, costume experiences and a lively mochi pounding activity.

Advisors took in views of dramatic mountains and rugged coastlines on a scenic rail journey from Hualien to Yilan.
Here, a ‘market-to-table’ culinary experience saw advisors explore a traditional local market before preparing a meal featuring fresh regional ingredients. At the National Centre for Traditional Arts, participants experienced Taiwan’s living cultural heritage through artisan workshops, traditional performances and beautifully preserved architecture.
The famil concluded in Taipei with visits to some of Taiwan’s most recognisable landmarks including the Taipei 101 Observatory, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the energetic Ximending District.
Accommodation highlights included stays at Promisedland Resort & Lagoon in Hualien and The Westin Yilan Resort.
A dedicated trade meeting was also held during the famil, providing valuable opportunities for industry collaboration, product discussions and future partnership development between Taiwanese tourism stakeholders and Australian travel professionals.
