Adelaide Convention Bureau (ACB) has brought together some of the state’s key tourism and MICE industry leaders to develop a COVID-19 recovery campaign.
The ‘COVID SA FE’ campaign markets Adelaide and South Australia’s promise of exemplary health and safety standards and procedures as Australia’s coronavirus restrictions continue to ease in some states and territories.
ACB chief executive Damien Kitto said the suite of multi-use marketing material, to be utilised by ACB members, promotes the unique capability of South Australia to develop and market an end-to-end “SA FE” strategy.
“Such a strategy should ensure our intra and interstate business guests can feel confident to travel here to join us, and to stay, and work with us,” he said.
The ‘Team Australia’ group brought together by ACB to develop the campaign is made up of the following industry leaders:
Mark Young – managing director, Adelaide Airport
Ian Horne – general manager, Australian Hotels Association (SA)
Rupert Hallam – general manager, Hilton Adelaide
Sarah Goldfinch – general manager, Crowne Plaza Adelaide
Llewellyn Wyeth – general manager, Pullman Adelaide
Simon Burgess – general manager, Adelaide Convention Centre
John Rothwell – CEO, Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA
Adam Vonthehoff – general manager of hospitality and portfolio development, Adelaide Oval
Anne-Marie Quinn – managing director, All Occasions Group
Michael Siebert – managing director, Adelaide Expo Hire
Kitto said each of the ‘Team Australia’ members gave their time to meet, plan a road to recovery, and construct a joint promise to the state and to guests that South Australia could do this in a united way.
“Only in SA can such a team of like-minded, economically committed CEs be formed – each with a strong determination to work willingly with each other to signal to the state and its guests that they come first,” he said.
“The campaign adds our ‘Team Adelaide’ united weight behind South Australia’s post-COVID economic health recovery; a necessity that each ACB member organisation strongly supports.”
