Australia’s annual primary event for the accessible tourism sector comes to Melbourne/Naarm on 27 August 2024 with discounts for the first 250 delegates to purchase advanced tickets.
It is the fourth year that the GetAboutAble’s annual AITCAP event takes place, this time in Melbourne/Naarm. And with the courtesy of the Australian Government’s “Choose Tourism” program, the first 250 delegates to purchase tickets get a special discount for registration.
AITCAP provides the tourism and leisure industry with the knowledge, skills, and valuable connections to improve access and inclusion.
The 2024 AITCAP expects over 300 delegates with a remarkable lineup of speakers and topics that address insights and share research. All of which is designed for tourism operators, policy makers, destinations, and organisations.
The programme includes a mix of keynote speakers, tourism business case studies, and new research complemented by networking sessions and panel discussions.
“The accessible and inclusive tourism market is both far bigger and easier to attract than many image,” GetAboutAble’s founder, Yasmine Gray, said. “With the industry looking at ways to attract new income streams into the future, I urge everybody to consider the simple fact that 20% people travel with some form of disability.”
With accessible tourism a priority of THRIVE 2030, Australia’s national strategy for the long-term sustainable growth of the visitor economy, the government is promoting opportunities for tourism businesses to build diverse workforces. This includes drawing from Australian Government employment programs which supports businesses to employ people with disability.
