The Ascott Limited (Ascott) group’s Citadines on Bourke Melbourne hotel has won Apartment Accommodation of the Year for the third time at the 2016 Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA) (Victoria) Accommodation Awards for Excellence.

The prestigious hospitality awards by TAA – a division of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) recognise the achievement of excellence in a wide range of categories in the accommodation industry.

Located in the heart of the city, Citadines on Bourke Melbourne consists of vibrant and modern studio, one and two bedroom apartments. Designed for international and domestic travellers on business or leisure, the property offers the privacy of a serviced apartment and the convenience of a hotel.

As well as winning Apartment Accommodation of the Year, Ascott was also named as a finalist in the Sales Employee of the Year category for Julie Avotins from the company’s Australian head office.

Ascott’s Regional General Manager for Australia and Indonesia, Kenneth Rogers, said “we are honored to be named as a finalist for two different prestigious awards and very pleased to have won for Apartment Accommodation of the Year.  The state award, which is given out by esteemed hospitality industry members, is a strong testament of the high quality products and services offered at Ascott properties all over the world.”

Ascott is familiar with the TAA Awards, having won the Best Suite Apartment Hotel award for Citadines on Bourke Melbourne in 2012 and 2014 as well as the national AHA award in 2011.

Since its opening in July 2010, Citadines on Bourke Melbourne has also won the Silver Award in New Accommodation Development at the National Accommodation Industry Awards for Excellence 2011 and was a finalist at the Victorian Tourism Awards for New Tourism Development the same year.
