Dreaming of travelling to the perfect destination in 2016 but the budget just isn’t cutting it? Thanks to TripAdvisor, the best times to travel have been named – crossing off your bucket list while leaving your bank account happy.
The differences between peak seasons and most affordable times are, in some cases, astounding. On the beautiful, unique island of St Maarten, Caribbean, a two-bedroom home in peak season could cost you nearly $8000. But if you book to escape the Australian winter chills in August you will pay an average of roughly $3,150 – less than half the cost of peak season, where the temperature still hits an amicable 28 degrees!
On the other end of the spectrum, in early May travellers can book a two-bedroom holiday home in Aspen Colorado at an average cost of $1,620. Highly recognised for its phenomenal ski fields and winter activities, peak season travel to Aspen can set you back an average of $6,260. Off-season Aspen offers breathtaking outdoor adventure activities and tours such as biking, hiking and horse riding which cannot be experienced during the pricey ski-season.
