The great thing about my job is… meeting and dealing with people in such a wide range of activities. Virtually no day is the same.
The challenge for industry is… remaining modern and in tune with customer tastes and demands.
My greatest achievement is… my beautiful family.
The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… keeping up the temperature on the surge in tourism that everyone including the NSW government is working towards
I try to relax by… cooking and simultaneously listening to opera.
I don’t understand why… people deep fry their food. Stir fry yes of course, but deep fry ?
Currently the album playing on my iPod is… La Traviata – in preparation for Opera on the Water in March/May. One of the drivers of the NSW tourism industry is the government’s commitment to major events in the arts, sport and in conventions and conferences. March is full of events and festivals throughout the State.
My favourite venue is… any venue where the tables aren’t jammed together so that you have to hear other conversations. And I am always disappointed when the waiter knows nothing about the menu. But for starters try the hatted Bistro Molines in the Pokolbin wine area. The food, wine and views are all stunning and Robert and Sally are gems in the Hunter Valley.
I am scared to death of… indecision and prevarication. Well; ‘dislike’ rather than ‘scared’.
I can’t live without… extra virgin olive oil; my Continental heritage you know.
Blackberry or iPhone… Yes, the former; standard issue.
I really wish I had… less evidence of the effects of highway fast food.
If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be… the farmers , providors and winemakers of the dinner’s menu with each offering a discussion of their item and being subject to cross-examination by everyone else.
