With so many different cruises to choose from, it can often be a tad overwhelming making a decision.

Every cruiser is looking for something unique, an experience that reflects how they want to travelling and where they want to go.

So which cruises are travellers loving?

Well, thanks to a survey conducted by consumer group Which? we now have an idea.

Which researched 13 different cruise companies and had cruisers write about their time onboard, specifically zeroing in on entertainment options, value for money, cabin space, customer service and the ships’ facilities.

With the help of the Daily Mail, we’ve got a pretty clear picture of what passengers are looking for, and what they are definitely not looking for.

Overall, the results showed most cruisers prefer less crowded ships and decks and more space in the cabins.

So how did the different companies fare?

The best cruise line, with a whopping 89 per cent customer satisfaction is Oceania, with an average price of AUD$504 a night per person.

According to the report, Oceania scored five stars out of five across many of the categories, including the passenger-to-space rating.

Next up to take a top rating is Saga, who scored 85 per cent in customer satisfaction and cost roughly AUD$432 per night.

As for the best large cruiseliners, P&O topped the list with 71 per cent customer satisfaction.

They were followed by Marella (formerly Thompson) Cruises, which pulled in 68 per cent customer satisfaction and costs around AUD$260 a night.

Unfortunately, no results survey would be complete without the worst rated in the bunch.

Sadly, this title was taken by Norwegian Cruise Line, with customer satisfaction sitting at 60 per cent, and price per night roughly AUD$300.

Speaking about the results, Which? Travel Editor Rory Boland said: “Want to have a fantastic cruise? Book aboard a smaller ship is the simple advice.”

“Whether you want to go big brand or budget, small name or luxury, passengers who sailed on ships with a capacity of under 2,000 told us they had a better time than those on larger vessels.”
