The magical super powers agents wish they had

Travel agents have voted on their ideal dream super power that would make their lives a trillion times easier. And we have the scoop.

Following on from our last year’s survey, asking agents everything from their favourite product of 2017 through to their most ridiculous customer requests and even their least favourite things from 2017, we’ve now asked the big question – the main thoughtpiece from 2017:

If you could have any secret weapon or superpower to make your job easier, what would it be?

Yes, we know, you’re dying to know the answers, so we’ll get straight to it. From all the agents who filled in the survey, here’s what super powers they wish they had:

• A secret money tree in my backyard – 38 per cent
• Mind reading – so we can skip hours of back-and-forth emails – 33 per cent
• Gift of the gab, for all those networking events – 9.5 per cent
• Freeze time so I can nap between clients – 9.5 per cent
• Time travel to undo that awful hotel booking – 4.8 per cent

We also asked the agents what they are most excited about for the year ahead, and if they’re planning on travelling.

As for those results, over 90 per cent of agents responded with ‘Absolutely – I’ve already packed my bag!’ when asked if they’re travelling in 2018. The remaining 10 per cent said, ‘Nope – I’m too poor to go anywhere beyond my backyard.’

And what are agents keen on in 2018? Here’s some of their responses:

• Going to new places – I’ve actually booked myself a holiday and will also be ocean cruising for the first time!
• My own trip to Galápagos Islands and the amazon
• Selling more cruises.
• Hopefully the industry being prosperous and people not afraid to travel
• More famils and travel to new places!
• Fresh beginnings, new clientele and anything booked other than Bali!
• Juicier bookings
• Hopefully new exciting destinations, airline fares remaining low to stimulate bookings
• Berlin for FC Global
• Long Service Leave – if approved
• The rise of river cruising in less well known ports of call
