New dining destination The Rocks is soon to land at Sydney Airport T2 Domestic, giving travellers another reason to arrive early.
Designed as more than just a place to eat, the precinct promises a relaxed, social space where the journey can begin well before boarding.
“The Rocks precinct represents a step change in how we think about airport dining by bringing together a strong mix of contemporary food and drinks brands in a space that is open, welcoming and designed for connection,” Sydney Airport group executive, commercial Mark Zaouk said.
“The space sits at around 680 square metres, so it will offer plenty of room for passengers to settle in, whether they’re stopping for a quick coffee at ST. ALi, easing into a long lunch at MoVida or grabbing a pre-flight drink at the Taphouse – there’s something to suit everyone.”
At the heart of The Rocks will be a trio of distinct dining experiences, each bringing its own flavour and personality.
MoVida marks a welcome return to Sydney Airport for acclaimed chef Frank Camorra, whose original venue in the T2 Domestic terminal operated for more than a decade. This new chapter reimagines the much-loved Spanish tapas concept, with a lively bar and dining space serving signature dishes alongside new, location-exclusive offerings.
“We’re excited to be returning to Sydney Airport, where MoVida had such a strong presence for many years,” Camorra said. “This new space gives us the opportunity to reimagine what we do in an airport setting, bringing the energy, generosity and bold flavours of Spanish tapas to travellers in a way that feels both familiar and new.”
For 21 years, ST. Ali has been a cornerstone of Melbourne’s coffee culture and now brings its cult-favourite brews to passengers looking for a pre-flight caffeine fix.
The Taphouse offers a relaxed, pub-style experience with a striking island bar – perfect for a casual drink, a bite to eat, or simply soaking up the atmosphere before take-off.
Inspired by Sydney’s iconic harbourside neighbourhood, The Rocks channels the character and charm of its namesake, blending heritage design cues with a contemporary, light-filled setting. Passengers can expect soaring ceilings, warm textures and an open, airy layout. Communal-style tables sits alongside more intimate seating, creating a laid-back, social atmosphere that feels closer to a city venue than a terminal.
Open from morning through to evening, The Rocks will be designed to move with the rhythm of travel, from early departures to late flights. It’s a place to grab and go, or to slow down and savour, depending on the journey ahead.
Communal dining plays a key role in shaping the experience, encouraging a sense of connection and energy throughout the space, while flexible seating ensures there’s something for everyone.
Behind the precinct is SSP, the global food travel expert responsible for securing the trio of brands.

Set to open in July, The Rocks precinct signals a new chapter for airport dining at Sydney Airport and forms part of the broader retail strategy that seeks to secure unique and distinctive offerings not available in other airport settings.
