What do luxurious Canadian train company Rocky Mountaineer and Air NZ and have in common? A love of good food, apparently.

The two teamed up with Travel Alberta to host a hands-on culinary event at the Plaza Ballroom at the Regent Theatre for 150 travel agents last month in Melbourne.

The evening, led by Rocky Mountaineer executive chef Jean Pierre Guerin took guests on a gourmet journey showcasing the delicious cuisine available aboard the train and in the Canadian province of Alberta.

Guests were able to roll up their sleeves and prepare their own Canada-inspired dishes such as Maple-Cured Salmon and Creamy Canadian Barley Risotto.

They also had the chance to win a trip for two to Canada in style with Rocky Mountaineer, won by Travis Graham from Adventure World.

But everyone was a winner here!

Those not lucky enough to be Travis himself got to take home a memento copy of Rocky Mountaineer’s cookbook, Eat Play Love: Regionally Inspired Cuisine.
