Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters has set a new world record for the worlds highest high tea in a helicopter 11,000 feet above sea level.
On 22 March, the New Zealand tour operator took to the skies, holding a high tea complete with five finger sandwiches, champagne and cupcakes from one of their helicopters.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity provided panoramic views of New Zealand’s highest mountain and a record-breaking experience unlike anything else.
The world record excursion provided lucky passengers with an astonishing panoramic view of New Zealand’s highest mountain, Aoraki/Mount Cook.
The helicopter soared over snowy mountains and stunning waterfalls passing landmarks including the Tasman glacier terminal lake, the Hochstetter icefall, and the grand plateau, while they enjoyed a refreshing high tea at 11,000ft above sea level before a thrilling alpine landing on the Tasman glacier following in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hilary, who was one of the first passengers to fly aboard Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters in 1948.
