AAT Kings is giving travellers a new reason to look beyond NSW’s icons with its new Outback New South Wales Adventurer.
For clients who have already ticked off Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the state’s better-known attractions, AAT Kings is offering a different way to experience New South Wales.
The nine-day Outback New South Wales Adventurer is one of the headline additions to AAT Kings’ 2027/28 season, taking a maximum of just 24 guests from Sydney through White Cliffs, Broken Hill, Silverton, Menindee Lakes and World Heritage-listed Mungo National Park.
The Small Group Guided Tour is built around meaningful encounters and local experiences, giving advisors another option for clients seeking a more immersive domestic holiday.

A different side of NSW
Travelling round-trip from Sydney, the journey begins with an organic and biodynamic wine tasting in the renowned food and wine region of Mudgee.
Stops in Nyngan and Cobar offer a deeper look into outback NSW’s pioneer and mining history.
Travellers then descend into Australia’s oldest commercial opal mine at White Cliffs before exploring Broken Hill’s distinctive mining and artistic heritage on a guided walking tour.
Sunset at The Living Desert and Sculptures provides a particularly memorable introduction to the colours and landscapes of outback NSW.

In Silverton, guests soak up the sights of the fascinating ‘ghost town’ with a visit to the Silverton Gaol & Historical Museum.
The journey also takes in Menindee Lakes and Griffith, with opportunities to connect with regional producers and communities along the way. Guests also experience Shear Outback, an educational attraction bringing the realities of life and work in Australia’s rural heartland to life.
At the World Heritage-listed Mungo National Park, guests explore the culturally significant Walls of China with a local First Nations guide, gaining insight into more than 40,000 years of history and the enduring connection between Country, culture and community.

Living heritage
It is this combination of striking outback landscapes and living heritage that sets the itinerary apart. The experience is less about collecting destinations and more about understanding what makes them significant, built around the people and stories that make the region so captivating.
The small-group format is another selling point for advisors. With an average of just 16 guests, the journey offers a more personal way to travel through regional NSW, opening up destinations and experiences that are harder to access with larger groups.
Priced from $5,962 per person, Outback New South Wales Adventurer is currently offering savings of up to $1,036 per couple.

AAT Kings looks beyond the icons
The Outback New South Wales Adventurer also reflects the broader direction of AAT Kings’ 2027/28 collection, which places greater emphasis on immersive experiences, Small Group touring and exploring Australia and New Zealand beyond their usual tourism hotspots.
It is one of three new guided holidays unveiled for the season, alongside an expanded Short Break collection designed to give travellers greater choice and flexibility while encouraging deeper exploration.
The itinerary is ideal for clients who have already experienced Australia’s headline attractions, or who simply want to see a different side of their own backyard.
The full 2027/28 collection, along with updated sales tools, product resources and campaign assets, is available through AAT Kings’ A-LISTERS trade hub.
