This is Africa is strengthening its presence across travel agencies with the appointment of Billy Knepscheld as business development manager for Queensland.
Knepscheld brings more than 17 years of experience to the role, including previous roles as a sales representative and more than 15 years as a travel consultant, predominantly with Flight Centre.
Born in Zimbabwe’s Bulawayo, he has a deep personal connection to Africa and has travelled the continent extensively, gaining first-hand knowledge of key destinations including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Mauritius.
Prior to entering the travel sector, Billy pursued sport at an elite level, representing the Queensland Academy of Sport in both soccer and futsal.
Drawing on his well-rounded skills in frontline sales and client engagement, Knepscheld will work closely with the This is Africa team to expand the company’s footprint across Queensland and Australia by providing travel agents with the tools, insights and confidence needed to sell Africa as a premier destination.
Knepscheld expressed his enthusiasm for the role, noting his passion for sharing Africa’s unique experiences with the industry and strengthening partnerships across the region.
