Ticker News has launched Ticker Air, a new weekly show covering news, movements and newsmakers in the global aviation industry, hosted by journalist Ahron Young.
The program will feature weekly interviews with executives, journalists and analysts from across the aviation sector, covering topics from airline business and fleet changes to frequent flyer schemes.
Ticker chief executive officer Ahron Young said the company was well placed to cover the sector.
“Aviation is a true passion, and from a country like Australia – a nation of travellers – who love to travel the world, we are in the perfect position to cover this amazing industry,” Young said. “As the sector grows Ticker Air will be a regular check in for the industry on the things that matter most – be it the business of aviation, changes to the travel and tourism [sic] down to the ever-shifting frequent flyer points system that so many travellers now rely on.”
Young has covered aviation for more than 15 years, reporting from Boeing’s headquarters in Seattle, on board the inaugural Qantas Perth-to-London route, and from aviation conferences in Miami and Geneva. His past coverage includes the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the downing of MH17, and the Boeing 737 MAX crashes and subsequent investigations.
The first episode features Sean Cudahy from The Points Guy and Keith Tonkin from Aviation Projects.
Ticker Air streams on the Ticker News network, via the Ticker app and across social media.
Ticker News is a digital streaming service the company said reaches a global audience of more than 4.3 million people a month. Its branded content division, Ticker Studios, produces sponsored content for companies including Visa, Schneider Electric, AusIndustry, Hotspotting and SoSafe.
Ticker Air joins a number of programs the network has launched this year in partnership with commercial backers, including The Founder’s Method, Media Movers, Cannabiz In Conversation and Broker Business. The company operates a studio in Melbourne’s CBD and has streaming partnerships with Comcast/Xumo, NewsWorld, Samsung TV Plus and LG TV Channels.
