TM agents kick back in Hawaii heaven

Paradise took on a new meaning for two lucky agents invited on a famil to Hawaii.

TravelManagers’ Kim Mason and Leah Boyd were selected to join CT Partners members on a four-night stay in the tropical island heaven, hosted by Hawaiian Airlines and Freestyle Holidays.

“I was floating around the hotel pool on a yellow beanbag, looking out to Diamond Head,” Mason said.

“I noticed that everyone was happy and making conversation with complete strangers, as if we were all children again at a friends’ pool party. The DJ’s tunes were blaring out over the speakers and the wait staff were on hand to refill the drinks”.

That moment was just one highlight of a four-night stay in Honolulu for Mason, while Boyd made the most of every opportunity to experience the famous Aloha spirit, not just in Waikiki but all over Oahu.

“We hired cars and drove to the North Shore, where we looked around Turtle Bay Resort,” Boyd said.

“Many of our clients hire cars on Oahu, so it was a great perspective to learn some hints, such as to make sure you pre-book in order to avoid a two-hour wait for your car.”

For Boyd, a visit to the Kualoa Ranch on Oahu’s east coast, about forty minutes’ drive from Honolulu, was another highlight.

“There were many activities to take part in – horse riding, ATVs, zip-lining, and the beach. Our group tried a variety of activities so now I can recommend the right activities for my clients’ respective needs”.

Both personal travel managers took in the chance to have a first-hand update on the accommodation options on offer in Waikiki, and also experiencing a variety of hotels and room types ranging from simple family-friendly properties to iconic properties like the Moana Surfrider.

Mason says the time spent on her bean bag wasn’t all fun though – she took it upon herself to find the best cocktail on the beach.  The Trump Towers won many awards for their eighteen-ingredient Mai Tai, which Mason describes as delicious.

“The best bet is to book a table for Friday night dinner and enjoy the local fireworks over the park from the restaurant at the same time – the perfect end to a perfect day.”
