Last night, Sydney’s travel trade industry came together at the prestigious Fullerton Hotel in the heart of the CBD to celebrate the visit of Malaysia’s Honourable Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.

The evening kicked off with an exclusive B2B session, where trade delegates eagerly engaged with Malaysia’s leading suppliers and airlines. Representatives from Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Batik Air showcased their latest offerings, providing valuable insights and opportunities for partnership. Following this, attendees participated in a lively speed networking session, fostering new connections and strengthening industry ties.

As the night progressed, guests enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal, enhanced by vibrant entertainment. Before dinner, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing warmly addressed the audience, emphasising Malaysia’s renowned “world-class hospitality” and the rich diversity of its eco and cultural tourism experiences. He expressed a strong desire to deepen the partnership between Malaysia and Australia, highlighting the mutual benefits of increased collaboration.

Adding to the evening’s cultural exchange, Australian singer Cassidy La Crème captivated the crowd with a multilingual performance, singing beautifully in Cantonese, English, and Malaysian, leaving a lasting impression on all present.

For travel professionals who missed the Sydney event, there is another opportunity to connect with Malaysia’s tourism community at the upcoming Malaysia Destination Seminar in Melbourne next week.
