Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA) recently hosted an innovative trade famil focused on content creation while showcasing the naturally adventurous city of Perth and the breathtaking gorges and crystal-clear rock pools of Karijini National Park.
Hosted by Tourism WA Trade Account Manager Christine Poole and held from 20–24 April 2026, the ‘Dream Karijini’ famil brought together six Australian travel advisors who were already creating high-quality, inspiring travel content on their channels, to experience the majestic landscapes and natural adventures of Western Australia.

At the start of the famil, delegates took part in a dedicated social media workshop led by digital marketing agency Wanderlust Communications. The session focused on practical tips for capturing engaging destination content, tailored specifically for travel advisors to inspire their clients.
The learning continued in dreamy Karijini, where Wanderlust provided in-destination guidance, and expert tips on shooting attention-grabbing content amongst otherworldly landscapes. Advisors were also set a series of social media content challenges throughout the famil, encouraging real-time content creation.

Throughout the famil, advisors experienced Western Australia’s dreamlike adventures and natural wonders, including an immersive Aboriginal cultural tour in Kings Park and Botanic Garden / Kaarta Koomba, meeting quokkas, the world’s happiest animal on Rottnest Island / Wadjemup, and guided hiking through Karijini’s magical gorges.
This innovative approach to trade engagement, ensured the advisors returned not only inspired to create more engaging content and sell more of Western Australia but that their clients got a taste of the trip too. See Blake Travel Agency’s latest reel here, created by famil attendee Ashlea Blake.
