Trafalgar has launched a very special new programme, paying homage to their roots and connecting travellers to a truly authentic experience.

72 years in the making, the new program is dedicated to the African continent, the Tollman family homeland!

This is a huge moment for the family-owned and operated company, whose roots are still firmly planted in Africa meaning they can deliver unrivalled expertise, real-life stories and connections to the people and places involved in the program.

“Waiting has not been easy,” CEO of Trafalgar Gavin Tollman said.

“However, our commitment to providing nothing but the best when it comes to precious holiday times meant that we needed to have all the pieces in place.”

“We were not prepared to make the promise of being simply the best way to experience Africa unless we could be confident that we could bring our beloved continent to our guests, in our own inimitable way.”

The program will mainly consist of smaller group trips and mini-stays which are exclusively for groups of four, 12 or 15.

It’s also packed with unique experiences, from accomplished photographer and renowned African guide Mike Myers, who created all the beautiful photography in the brochure, to The Oyster Box Hotel in Durban where the Trafalgar story first began.

Chairman of The Travel Corporation Stanley Tollman took his now wife Beatrice Tollman on their first date to the stunning 5 star The Oyster Box hotel in Durban and exclaimed that one day he will own this hotel…and the rest is history.

Royalty have stayed there, from the likes of Monaco’s royal couple on their honeymoon to King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu and now Trafalgar guests will too on the Best of South Africa trip.

Trafalgar is also aiming to give back to the continent as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability with the various JoinTrafalgar and The TreadRight Foundation initiatives, including helping South Africa -which is currently facing water issues –  reach its tourism target of 5 million visitors by 2020.

The program covers nine different countries with ten handcrafted trips in three styles (Country Explorer, Regional Explorer, Mini Stay) and will commence in December this year!
