TransNusa has launched a new direct scheduled service between Bali and Phuket, its fourth international route from the island.
The airline said the route was designed to boost tourism between Indonesia and Thailand and to strengthen its hub in Bali.
TransNusa group chief executive officer Datuk Bernard Francis said the new service added to the carrier’s existing international network from Bali, which also includes Perth, Singapore and Guangzhou.
“Beyond tourism, the new service is also expected to facilitate stronger economic ties between Indonesia and Thailand by encouraging business travel and fostering closer people-to-people connections,” Datuk Bernard said. “Our passengers can look forward to a number of new international and domestic scheduled flight route launches before the end of 2026.”
The Bali-Phuket route is being operated four times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, using an Airbus A320 with 174 seats.
Flight 8B 541 departs Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah International Airport at 8.50am and arrives in Phuket at 11.50am. The return service, 8B 542, departs Phuket at 1.50pm and arrives back in Bali at 6.50pm.
Tickets have been on sale since 3 July, 2026, and are priced from US$167.60 (around AU$226), available through TransNusa’s website or online travel advisors.
The launch follows TransNusa’s announcement last week of a new Jakarta-Bangkok service, due to begin on 6 August. The airline has now announced two new international routes since the start of the second half of 2026, with further domestic and international launches expected before the end of the year.
TransNusa said the route was expected to appeal to holidaymakers, families and business travellers, and would support closer economic and cultural ties between Indonesia and Thailand.
The airline offers three fare bundles on its international flights: SEAT, SEAT-PLUS and FLEXI-PRO. Datuk Bernard said SEAT passengers receive 20kg of checked baggage, in addition to a 7kg hand-carry allowance. FLEXI-PRO passengers receive 30kg of checked baggage, seat selection, meals and drinks, priority boarding, and unrestricted flight changes and refunds.
TransNusa rebranded as a premium service carrier in February 2024. It received its Air Operator Certificate in September 2022 and launched its first international flight in April 2023, becoming the first Premium Service Carrier operator in the Asia-Pacific region. The airline, based in Jakarta and Bali, also flies to Singapore, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Perth, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Bangkok.
