The Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME), the highly respected not-for-profit mentoring organisation supporting professionals across the travel, tourism, hospitality, cruise and aviation sectors, has announced the launch of TIME Canada.
Founded in Australia 15 years ago by Penny Spencer and the Australian Board, TIME was created to address the need for structured, high-quality mentoring within the travel industry. Since its inception, TIME has supported thousands of industry professionals, helping to develop future leaders, build confidence, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of the sector.
Following the successful establishment of TIME New Zealand seven years ago, the organisation is now expanding into Canada in response to strong interest and demand from Canadian travel industry leaders and global partners already aligned with the TIME community.
The official TIME Canada launch event will take place on 23 September 2026 at Toronto, bringing together industry leaders, supporters, mentors and prospective mentees to celebrate the next chapter of TIME’s global growth. TIME Chair Penny Spencer will attend the launch in person.
TIME Canada is proudly supported by long-time TIME Mentor and Advisor Steve Farrelly, Principal of +sixone consulting, and Edith Beaudoin, who has recently been appointed Program Manager for TIME Canada.

Proven mentoring model with global impact
TIME’s mentoring programs are known for their practical, human-centred approach, pairing experienced industry leaders with emerging and mid-career professionals. The outcomes seen across Australia and New Zealand include increased retention, stronger leadership pipelines, and renewed confidence across the sector — particularly during times of industry change.
“TIME was founded on the belief that mentoring strengthens individuals and, in turn, protects the future of our industry,” said TIME chair Spencer. “After 15 years of incredible impact in Australia and the successful growth of TIME New Zealand, we are thrilled to be expanding into Canada.

“This launch comes directly from the enthusiasm and encouragement of Canadian colleagues and global partners who have been asking for the TIME program to be available locally. We are excited to welcome mentors, mentees and supporters across Canada into the TIME community.”
Principal of +sixone consulting, TIME mentor and advisor Steve Farrelly said the program was a professional game changer.
“I was fortunate to be a participant in TIME early in my career, and it was genuinely a game changer for me,” he said. “I’ve since had the opportunity to give back as a mentor, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone grow and succeed. That’s why I’m so passionate about bringing TIME to Canada and helping create those same opportunities for others.”
Calling mentors, mentees and partners in Canada
TIME Canada will offer the same proven mentoring framework that has underpinned success in Australia and New Zealand, while being locally guided and supported by Canadian industry leaders.
Canadian professionals at all career stages are encouraged to get involved:
- Mentees seeking guidance, confidence and career longevity
- Mentors looking to give back, share experience and support the next generation
- Partners and supporters committed to developing people and strengthening the travel, hospitality and tourism industry in Canada and globally.
As a not-for-profit organisation, TIME relies on the generosity of its mentors, supporters and sponsors to deliver its programs and extend its reach.
TIME recently marked a significant milestone, hosting its first event at Qantas Headquarters in Mascot to celebrate a new partnership with the national carrier and honour the latest cohort of program graduates.
